What to expect when buying a telephone system
When buying a telephone system, apart
from the obvious, expect a working demonstration of the system
- either at your premises, at the dealers, or even better,
at a customer's site.
Not only should they offer installation
of all telephone hardware, they should offer you least cost
routing. One that does not, is not offering a total solution.
It is even better if they bill you direct, rather than simply
passing your details onto a carrier direct. It is in your
advantage to use your dealer for one point of contact - rather
than be dealing with another company.
|
They should also be able to
offer references of at least 2 other customers of
simailar telephone systems for you to call upon.
|
|
End user training is expected
and in most cases, the 1st year's maintenance of the
system should be included.
|
|
A sign of a good system installer
is one who will make programming changes free of charge
within the first month of installation, before the
maintenance contract begins.
|
Be very wary of any dealer offering
large discounts or free maintenance. This is a competitive
marketplace and if struggling, they will give discounts that
they cannot afford - their long-term stability must surely
be in question. Their ability to be around in 2 years time
is as important as a 5% discount.
Our advice is to look into their accounts.
A good dealer who can provide year's of support is invaluable.
